On October 2, Charlene and Pati along with volunteers, escorted 25 children to the Mira Flores waterpark. This excursion was made possible through a generous donation from Frank and Linda Talley at our funderaiser held in May. The children enjoyed a day of fun in the water and were treated to lunch.

From January 1 to October 1, East Cape Health Center has given free dental treatment to 628 children in our East Cape Dental Clinic. All proceeds from adult dental patients make this vital program possible. Thank you!

East Cape Health Center is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a $28,000 grant for our Diabetic Program by Rotary International and the local Rotary Club. With these funds, East Cape Health Center will be able to meet current and future medical needs of the Mexican population that has Diabetes. This grant will also enable us to move forward with our educational program to assist in the control of this disease.
Our annual Diabetes Screening will be held on November 20, 2011. Members from Rotary will be be providing assistance along with offering free eye examinations and glasses.

David Barker and his sons donated 150 toothbrushes and toothpaste to our Children's Dental Program. East Cape Health Center appreciates our generous donors for their continued support of this valuable program.
May 22 & 23, 2011
East Cape Health Center has partnered with Internation Emergency Services Foundation to provide much needed training for our local volunteer firefighters (bomberos). Extrication classes were held providing valuable training on extrication techniques. Extrication materials and equipment was bought by the generous donations at our fundraiser. IESF donated their services and equipment. With awesome community support, the Emergency Services Improvement Plan is off to a great start.

East Cape Health Center held a fundraiser on May 20, 2011 at East Cape RV Resort to kick off our Emergency Services improvement Plan. Over 150 people attended and enough funds were raised to buy 5 AEDs and firefighter extrication equipment.

East Cape Health Center is pleased to annouce that we have expanded our Children's Dental Program to Buena Vista, El Cardonal, Campamento, Las Cuevas, San Bartolo, and the Los Ninos de La Paz Orphanage. Our nonprofit has given oral hygiene instruction to over 300 children this year. In our Dental Clinic we have given free treatment to over 210 children. Thank you for your continued support.

East Cape Health Center is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Veronica Tuchmann Murillo to our Dental Staff. Veronica will be assisting us with our Children's Dental Program.This will enable East Cape Health Center to treat many more children. We welcome Veronica to our Community.
East Cape Health Center recently held our annual Children's Dental School Program on November 11th,12th & 15th, 21010 in the Los Barriles Elementary School. 219 children were given dental hygiene instruction, an oral examination and all recieved toothbrushes and tooth paste. 88 children will be scheduled for follow-up dental treatment in our Dental Clinic, at no cost to the family. We have done the Kindergarten in Los Barriles also and will be doing the Kindergarten in Buena Vista on November 19th.
Luis, our volunteer EMT and registered nurse, is now certified by Cruz Roja (Red Cross, Mexico) in Disaster Relief.
